Anushka Sharma’s latest release on Netflix, Bulbbul is not just another horror flick but a social commentary on pertinent issues. Fans are already impressed with its representation of 1881 Bengal. The show stars some well-known names, including Rahul Bose, Parambrata Chatterjee, Paoli Dam and Avinash Tiwary. Among the performances, actress Tripti Dimri (who plays Bulbbul) has left fans in awe with her acting skills.
Her father is her inspiration
Tripti said she is inspired by her father, Dinesh Dimri, who wanted to be an actor too but couldn’t. “I thought I have no chance in films and so wanted to do TV. I was very confident that I might become a star on small screen,” she said according to a PTI report.
She was camera shy at first
In an interview with DNA India, Tripti had opened up about her days when she accidentally auditioned for Laila Majnu. She claimed at that time she was auditioning on multiple sets but those weren’t her lucky days. She had said, “I was camera shy. Later, my flatmate called to say that she was auditioning for Laila Majnu and asked me if I could come to the venue, so that we could go home together. When I reached, even I was asked to do a screen test. After a few days, I learnt that I had been selected.” Her co-star in the film Avinash Tiwary has also acted in Bulbbul.
Bagging the role wasn’t easy
Tripti also claimed that she was rejected when she first gave the audition for the film. “I had auditioned for the film in 2016 but I got rejected at that time. In 2017, I moved to Bombay and I got the script again and told my agency that there is no point in trying it again as I was already rejected,” she told PTI.
